About Program
Q:I am an absolute beginner in Chinese; am I eligible to apply for your program?
A:More than half of our applicants are beginners in Chinese. Our Chinese programs are open for students at all levels- beginning to advance and no minimum language ability required.

Q:Can I receive university/college credit for course work conducted in your program?
A:The host universities are preeminent in their fields, and have cooperative arrangements with numerous universities and research institutions around the world. You will be obtaining the official certificate and transcript issued by Host University after completing our program. How many credits you are able to transfer depends on the university in your home country.

Q:Do you offer any afternoon classes?
A:Our programs at universities have lectures or elective or activities in the afternoon. The 2 language programs have language class in afternoon. By the way, our Programs make all afternoon full except Sunday.

Q:Do you have any programs for high school students?
A:We have but Only in group way. i.e. with a high school teacher as supervisor leading the group more than 5 students.

Q:Do you offer Chinese language courses in other cities of China?
A:Our EZChinese® programs starting at Beijing with our culture and business program have some courses and field trips in other cities. We would recommend you to start your Chinese-study in Beijing, as it's the first destination for overseas students to learn Chinese. Besides, the other cities have strong accents in Mandarin, which can make it difficult for the foreigners to understand, but we will arrange field trip to other cities, reside in local universities campus and take some courses / electives / activities.


About Application & payment
Q:How early should I apply?
A:We would suggest you to apply as early as possible as limited spaces are offered on a first come, first served basis. The deadline should be 6 weeks before the starting date of Program or contact us for any space available.

Q:What if I have missed the deadline?
A:Please contact us and see if space is still available.

Q:How can I get a visa?
A:The Admission Letter and JW202 form are required to obtain a visa. We provide these documents when enrollment has been completed and full payment paid. Participants attending our programs require an F (Visitor) visa.
Please note that, following is the Chinese government Law:
Any person suffering from mental disorder, leprosy, AIDS, venereal diseases, contagious tuberculosis or other such infectious diseases shall not be permitted to enter China.

Q:Do I need to go physically to apply for my visa?
A:Please consult your nearest Chinese consulate for detailed info about application for student visa. Some consulates provide a mailing service and you do not need to visit physically. You can also apply for the student visa through your travel agent.

Q:How can I recognize your on site staff at the airport?
A:Our on site staff will hold a plate with "China View" at the airport.

Q:I do wish to study Chinese, but my budget is tight. Do you offer scholarships?
A:We do not offer scholarships, however, our "Volunteers in China" program are some way to reduce your budget and expenses. See specific sections on our website for more information.

Q:Would you be able to send me the materials about your program?
A:We do not produce expensive, glossy brochures. We encourage you to search for our program information on this website. To make registration, just fill out our Application Form and provide us all the required documents and payment.

Q:What is the best way to bring money with me?
A:You can take a little cash or travelers checks or credit cards. There are two banks in the campus for money withdraw and exchange.

Q:What are other costs I should be aware of?
A:Remember it is all-in-one program package, what your necessary program need included in the program. There are not too many other costs. You need some expenses for your self-arranged activities and so on (China souvenirs). And there is so many things to do in the programs which leave you no much time to other activities.

The program fee does not include:
¡¡• International airfare
¡¡• Passport, visa, vaccinations
¡¡• Overseas medical and emergency insurance.
¡¡• Self-arranged activities
¡¡• Some meals
¡¡• Personal expenses, souvenirs, etc.

Q:What is the weather like in Beijing?
A:Winter (December - March) in Beijing is dry and windy. The capital experiences perhaps one or two snowfalls per winter, and the temperature hovers around 0 degrees Celsius for most of the season. Down jackets are recommended.
Spring (April - May) is brief, but temperatures are pleasant (13 - 18 degrees Celsius). Sand and grit from the Gobi Desert to the north bring occasional dust storms.
Summer (June - August) is hot with sticky humidity and afternoon thundershowers. The average temperature is 26 degrees Celsius.
Fall (September - November) temperatures range from 5 degrees to the mid-teens. Evenings may turn unexpectedly cold. Light jackets or sweaters are needed.

Q:What if I have a problem over there while on the program?
A:Participants arrange visa, insurance and airfare in their home country and we takes care every detail while students are in China. Our on-site director and staff will be able to help you with any problem or concern that you may have.

Q:How quickly will I progress in Chinese?
A:Your progression will all depend on :
¡¡• Your current level in Chinese
¡¡• Your chosen course
¡¡• The duration of your course
¡¡• Your learning ability
¡¡• Whether or not you speak or have studied other languages
¡¡• The length of time (and how long ago) you have studied Chinese
¡¡• Your personal motivation

Q:When is my arriving date and leave date?
A:The program fee includes accommodation from the day before starting date. So your best arriving date should be the day before starting date and, leaving date is the day after the finish date. Fax us your air flight time schedule (to and return) in order to make your accommodation reservations and airport pick-up & drop-off. Note that you will be responsible for payment of accommodation fees for any additional days outside of your program.

Q:Are refrigerators and cooking facilities available?
A:Yes, the student resident in the host university of UIBE have refrigerator in every room and kitchen in each floor.

Q:How can I get access to the Internet?
A:Internet access and desktop computer is provided in the student resident.

Q:Where can I do laundry?
A:There are also Laundromats located nearby, which provide laundering, ironing, and dry cleaning services. Laundry service is also available on campus for students living there. Cleaner service is not expensive, i.e. wash and iron of a shirt is 5-8 RMB.

Q:How can I get or exchange money while I am in Beijing?
A:You may bring money with you, either in the form of cash or traveler's checks or credit cards. ATM machines are available everywhere, or cash advances can be drawn over the counter at most large banks for a transaction charge. Major hotels and most fine restaurants and stores accept credit cards.

Q:What do I need to bring with me?
A:Today in Beijing you can find almost any product and brand that you would find at home. We recommend that you bring any prescription medication in sufficient quantities to last for the duration of your visit. Also bring with your sport clothes and shoes.

Q:VOLTAGE -- What is the voltage used in China?
A:The voltage here is 220. Converters and power strips may be purchased locally.

Q:Mobile phone ¨C Can I use my mobile phone in China?
A:Chinese mobile system applies the same frequency with Europe but different with U.S.A. and Japan. Any mobile can be used in Europe can be used in China. Check your mobile manufacturer for information.

Q:How can I pay for my stay?
A:Application Fee and Program Fee could be made by telegraph transfer in US dollars.

Q:Do I need a special insurance?
A:You definitely need a special insurance to cover personal liability, emergency, medical and repatriation expenses, loss and theft of luggage and valuables. We also advise you to be covered for cancellation of trip and inability to continue your course. Please send us proof of your insurance: either a letter or a copy of your insurance card.

As an addition, China View Education Center will provide each participant an In-China emergency & medical insurance coverage during the EZChinese® program by a Chinese insurance institution.

Q:Does China View Education Center arrange any extracurricular activities?
A:Yes, we offer a lot of interesting cultural activities after class. The cost of the activities we organized are free of charge.

Q:What currency is used in China?
A:The Chinese currency is the RenMinBi ('currency of the people of China') ¨C pronounce R M B- but Chinese people also use 'Yuan'.
You can say 10 Yuan or 10 R M B. Generally, 10 RMB =1 €uro, and 8 RMB= 1 US Dollar
